Project
Objective VI: Make the programming modifiable by other programmers while
maintaining control. To maintain system integrity UDS must have control
over the business process but there are many times that special functions are
necessary for specific companies to function at maximum efficiency. An objective
is to work with the army of professional programmers and value added resellers
that are available in the computer industry. They may not have the years of
expertise in the green industry that comes with UDS Windows software but they
are capable of customizing some reports or adding special functions. Working
with these people in a controlled manner makes happy customers UDS has specifications for writing VB programs and
integrating them into the menu system. We have worked with programmers to
incorporate their unique programs while making it transparent to the users where
the program was written. This concept of working with other developers and
programmers stems from a desire to meet the needs of our customers and this
industry. UDS has many unique ideas and superior systems but everything is not
invented here. Frequently it is in our customers best interests to have local
assistance in writing special nonstandard applications. Although a very
expensive and risk prone process, getting your own programmer is an alternative
for some companies. As a business philosophy we believe each company must
operate in a way that is consistent with that companies long term best
interests. To accommodate sub applications that are consistent with this
philosophy we have incorporated this ability. The
object oriented nature of Windows and Visual Basic make this possible but it is
the philosophy of UDS to work with the computer industry and the green industry
that get it done. |
